Company Profile
Company history - Lindsay
Kline
KlineFire Pty Ltd (formerly
Lindsay Kline Pty Ltd) was established in 1964 to provide
fire protection equipment
and related
products to the commercial building industry servicing
building, plumbing and fire contractors.
When Lindsay Kline started
the business in 1964 (with just one employee) he soon
established a solid client
base built
on strong relationships, integrity and a keen eye for
what the market required: cornerstone values and traits
that are
still fundamental to the business today.
Lindsay Kline
is well-known in the world of sport. A left-arm spin
bowler, he represented Australia in
cricket
at an
international level, playing a total of 13 Tests.
Amongst his career highlights
were his best figures of 7/75 at Lahore against Pakistan
in 1959-1960, a Test hat-trick at Cape Town against
South Africa in the 1957-58 series and helping save
the Adelaide
Test in the famous 1960-61 series against the West
Indies by batting as No. 11 for 109mins with partner
Ken "Slasher" Mackay
to salvage a draw. Despite these heroics Lindsay
is probably best remembered for being the 'not out'
batsman
who hit
the last ball in the famous tied Test against the
West Indies
at Brisbane also in the 1960-61 series. The celebrated
photo featuring Lindsay, which shows the dramatic
conclusion of this match, is one of the most iconic
in Australian
sport.
By giving the company his name, Lindsay also
brought to the business attributes associated with
him: style
and grace,
integrity, determination, honesty and respect -
qualities that have been the basis of the family business
for
over 40 years.
In July 1994, Lindsay retired from
the workforce and sold the business to his two sons,
Tony and
Andrew, who have successfully
steered the company into the new millennium,
achieving strong growth in new and existing markets. The
growth of the business
over recent years has spawned a new and dynamic
team of employees totalling nearly 30 staff at
the beginning
of 2005.
July 2005 saw the re-branding of Lindsay
Kline Pty Ltd to KlineFire Pty Ltd. The change in name
and
logo reflect
the
company's ability to evolve with the times
and embrace positive change, yet still respect the
heritage and
maintain the core
values that have defined the business over
the last forty years.
In an industry dominated by multi-national
organizations, KlineFire's ability to grow
and develop - whilst
maintaining the respect and patronage of
new and long-standing
clients - is a testament to the quality and
values of the company
and its employees.
